Desktop Manager has a lot of good ideas, but none of them seem to work as well as they're supposed to. VirtueDesktops has a lot of cool features and not as many of the bugs. When you change focus to a different application, it automatically moves to the desktop that application is on. This is shiny when you like using a+tab.
So... I finally got around to fixing up my laptop. I couldn't find my Tiger dvd, so I pirated the CD version and burned it (used up four of my last 5 blank CD's, too), and after backing up my important files, completely erased my harddrive and reinstalled tiger. This time, I didn't try to keep applications and the like. I'm just starting over completely.
It's nice. Everything's clean and shiny. I'm finding new versions of things that I thought were up-to-date. I'm finding better versions of things that were mediocre. I'm remembering how much I love os x and its utter lack of bullshit. I'm fixing the broken.
X11 is installed and working. Soon I will be able to customize everything for good or for awesome. I am very pleased with myself.
Oh, and I also finished all four of the things that were due today, earlier today. Because I rock. Then I completely nullified that work by staying up all night playing with my computer :D
Which I shall return to now. I shall grab a bottle of bawls and all will be well.
