Third time's the charm?

I've tried twice in the past two days to make a blog post, and it just didn't work. This weekend was awesome and crazy and exciting. We saw the minibosses and mc frontalot in concert, which was cool. Nerds do not know how to mosh though. It was kind of sad, but I suppose only to be expected. I'm now somewhat tempted to buy or download every song the minibosses have ever recorded.

I'm still not certain what day I'm moving into my new place, so stop asking me pleeeease :P It will probably be some time between the 1st and the 5th. I'll probably make you help me move in. Tyler, find a place to live.

I bought two things on ebay yesterday, at least partially due to the fact that there was absolutely nothing to do at work and I spent the whole day surfing the web. My boss was out sick (strep throat is bad) which only meant that there was even less to do because she couldn't give us odd jobs. It's kind of looking like it'll be the same today.

Anyway! The two things I bought were Settlers of Catan, with the 6 player expansion set, and the Trigun dvd's. I also acquired two LightSabers last night. So if some time you're looking for epic battles of geekery, look me up. Seriously though, I want to teach people how to play settlers if they don't know how, because it's about my favorite game ever. It takes a couple hours if you have more than 4 people, but it's fun.

I've been musing lately about geeks, nerds, dorks, boxes, and intelligence vs. knowledge. I will collect my thoughts and write some post about it later.

I'm bad at planning and communication.

Really wish I were better at it. Wish I were better at a lot of things.

This weekend kind of sucked, and was unfun. I did get to spend time with katina and tyler, which was way cool. Thank you both for stealing me.

Some time this week I may be helping my boss paint her house. She's kind of stressed out, and jennifer and I had the same thought at the same time, and so at the end of the day we went into her office and offered our services some day this week. She said she'd go home and ask her husband what he though, so we'll see what happens. Looks like we'll get dinner out of the deal though, which is just flippin sweet.

Some other night this week I have to do laundry. And some night this week I have to start packing my bedroom. And some night this week I have to figure out how the hell I'm getting down to PAX this weekend. It might be bus. Not sure yet. Also have to prod britt into figuring out how *she's* going to get to PAX. Also have to figure out where we're staying. Mental note: call Julie and aunt Barb.

I need to learn how to not put myself into situations where I'm figuring everything out at the last minute. TJ is the awesomest ever for coming to the ferry to pick me up when I just randomly called him and was like "uh.... think you can figure out how to get me back from the ferry?" Yeah, I'm a jackass. :(

And on the third day rose again. Yeah, I had the plague. Apparently gave it to my poor roommate too. I think she hates me now :(

Called in sick tuesday, tried to go on wednesday but my boss sent me home, and went today and felt pretty good for the last 3/4 of the day. Still a little woozy if I stand up too fast or something, but at least I *can* stand up too fast :P

I killed windows when I installed gentoo, but didn't even realize it until about a week ago. Then I didn't get around to fixing it until yesterday. It went pretty smoothly, which either means I'm kind of smart, or I've broken things so many times now that fixing them is becoming easier -.-

Guh!

Today has to have been the most annoying day of work ever. Normally I spend about half of the day entering info for parent PLUS loans, which are annoying and mundane but tolerable in small doses. In that amount of time I usually finish about 40. Jennifer doesn't even get that many done, because she doesn't type as fast or retain focus for as long (yeah, I can stay focused on something when I try. Surprising, isn't it)

Anyway, the problem with entering PLUS addendums is that the longer you do it, the more impossible it becomes to stay focused on doing exactly the same process over and over again. Today that was *all* I did. Each one takes me about 4 minutes to do, but in 8 hours I got only 60 done. I was doing fine at lunch, but then suddenly I was like... braindead. I kept spacing out without realizing it. It was bothersome.

So yeah... I came home feeling burnt out and slightly discouraged. But I'm going to play with my computer for a while now and maybe I'll feel better.

Hey guys, long time no see.

Not Gus is on a diet, and I don't think he likes it very much. I was beginning to suspect that I may be feeding him a bit too much, but I never feed him more than he eats. I've been very careful about that much... I've got him trained so that he comes to where my fingers are above the water... that way he always sees what I'm feeding him. He's pretty smart, for a fish. However, he looks a little chubby to me.

.Brittainy is coming to visit me in like! a week! I'm very excited about this. I will be working for most of the time she'll be here, but she wants to come anyway and play with my computers while I'm gone. Remind you of anyone?
.I'm going to PAX! Not sure how, but that's nigh unto irrelevant. Not really. But I'll figure it out.
.I'm pretty positive they're going to force me to take speech before I graduate. I'm going to try to get out of it on the basis of having my AA already, but I really don't think it's going to fly. That could suck. A lot.
.I quit the youth group at church, because life is crazy and I just wasn't feelin' it. I feel I gave it a good shot, and it didn't seem to be working, so that was that. I felt little or no connection with the kids, and I felt it was unfair to them for me to try to be a leader when I just wasn't into it. Oh well.

Alright, that list is getting long and gross. That's the stuff I can think of that I may not have told you... anything else you'll just have to hope I love you enough to tell you in person :)

No really though... sorry I haven't been updatey. I'll try to do better. I've just been kind of out of it for the past... month and a half. <3
